Whyte and Mackay gives back this festive season

Over the past 6 weeks, our brilliant and generous colleagues across our Grangemouth Bottling Hall, Invergordon Distillery, and Glasgow Head Office have been collecting tirelessly for donations to support local food banks across Scotland in the run-up to one of their busiest times of the year.

As a business, our local communities are really important to us, so we are extremely proud of the thoughtfulness and generosity of the Whyte & Mackay community and their commitment to supporting local causes close to their hearts.

Find out more about what we’ve been up to at our different sites.

Invergordon Distillery

This year, Whyte and Mackay team at Invergordon Distillery partnered with the Easter Ross and Tain Rotary Club to create hampers for those in need of our communities from Invergordon, Alness and Tain.

The hampers went to a variety of people from people with mobility issues living on their own to large families and for all whom a hamper would make a big difference to their Christmas. With the help of local people and businesses, including a £500 donation from W&M, they created and delivered over 60 hampers!

Grangemouth Bottling Hall and Earlsgate Distribution Centre

Colleagues at Grangemouth have been collecting tirelessly for the local food bank Kersiebank Project Community which does an amazing job of supporting those in need. We’re extremely happy to announce that the South Lumley Street team collected £4000 worth of donations during this time!

The donations made will be used to fill food parcels that will then be distributed to local families who are in need this Christmas.

Glasgow Head Office

Our team at our Head Office in Glasgow has been kindly collecting both food and funds to support 3 local food banks in Glasgow:

Carntyne & Riddrie Credit Union in the East End – the First non-referral food bank in the area, giving families and individuals easier access to food when they need it, without the stress of navigating often complex referral systems.

Ruchazie Food Pantry – the first food pantry in Glasgow that provides high-quality, low-cost foods to the local community, that also focuses on ways to save the environment.

Moodiesburn Community Food Bank – a food bank supporting the community of Moodiesburn near Glasgow.

Thank you to our brilliant teams. We hope these donations help to make the festive period a little brighter for people in need across Scotland.
